Established electronic artist lau.ra returns to DFTD with the three-track ‘Do That EP’, named after the lead collaboration with Surya Sen. A moniker of British musician Laura Bettinson, lau.ra has proved her worth as an accomplished house producer and occasional vocalist, previously collaborating with the likes of Monki, Dope Earth Alien, Chris Lake & Riva Starr and ODESZA as well as recently remixing for Jayda G and Justin Martin. The lead, ‘Do That’, spotlights Bengali rapper Surya Sen’s versatile hip-house flow, adding complex textures to lau.ra’s distinctive wobble-bass production. Her chunky yet tight style is on full display as the EP continues; the UKG keys and shuffle of ‘About You’ give way to a sudden sweep of bassy goodness, while ‘Need U’ rounds out the incredibly cohesive package with a softer but still club-ready groove.
